imagining
tomorrow

The world we live in today has been shaped by past predictions, some of which proved accurate, and some of which did not.

Imagining Tomorrow investigates how prediction has shaped our world in science, politics, urban planning, art, and culture. Based on the British Academy funded projects ‘Getting it Wrong: The Limits to Prediction’ and ‘The Art and Artifice of Prediction’, this project explores prediction, forecasting, and future thinking across the twentieth century – and the legacies of futures past that shape our world today.
